2024 is not over yet, not at all. Some of you have probably written off the year already and you may be thinking well the goals that I set, appeared to be insurmountable as far as achieving them are concerned. There are some others who are still just strolling along nicely through 2024 with no real sense of purpose and direction and it’s just another year as usual and anything goes, whatever will be will be and that is exactly what will be for you. If you’re someone who genuinely wants to achieve certain goals and get certain things done this year before we step into 2025 then this is definitely for you.
First of all, as of today the 13th of August 2024, we still have 140 days and 20 weekends left of 2024 and that translate to over 3,360 hours for you to be able to do the things that you need to do.
Another thing that is also important to bear in mind is that the year does not end just because you step into the month of December. For some people, as soon as December comes along, they switch straight away into holiday zone. December is the month of holidays however, if you actually check the calendar the year ends on the 31st of December and 31 days is still a lot of time to be able to get certain things done. You can get so much accomplished within 31 days if you are mission or action oriented and goals driven so don’t just write the year off yet. There’s a reason why I also included the number of hours we have left in 2024 because the greater we’re able to break down our time, the more strategic we become as far as the way we use our time is concerned so I stated we have 140 days left and someone may think that’s still plenty of time to still push to-do list further down the line however, if you’re hours oriented, it causes you to be focused on the daily activities as opposed to weekly activities. For example, someone can get a lot more done if for they dedicate 10 hours within a particular week to a particular goal to making sure that this goal is accomplished. If you’re taking it in bits and you’re able to dedicate 10 hours within that particular week across, say 4 weeks, you can get a lot more done within 4 weeks than someone who’s dedicating perhaps just 2 hours a week so it is important for us to focus on the hours. We have different goals; for some it may be a project that you set out to start in 2024, a business, a charity, some kind of an initiative, a new language to learn or whatever it may be, you need to identify how many hours you’re going to need to get that goal accomplished so it’s just something for you to think about but very important, December ends 31st not the 1st.
